F-Secure™ Radar

F-Secure Radar is a broadcast system that delivers instant notifications of serious security events around the world through a variety of media. F-Secure Radar broadcasts information about virus attacks, denial of service and other critical security issue alerts to a wide range of devices, including mobile phones, PDAs and pagers. This ensures that messages are delivered to you wherever you are.

The experts in our team work round the clock to investigate suspicious code. When potential threats are discovered, such as virus outbreaks or denial of service attacks, time is of the essence. With F-Secure Radar, our experts make sure the most critical security alerts get to you immediately, providing the time-critical information you need to do your job. You choose the combination of alert level and delivery device.

F-Secure prioritizes the security alerts into two classes: Level 1 and Level 2. Users choose which classification they wish to receive, and on which devices they wish to receive each level alert.

Level 1

This is a high level alert! F-Secure issues Level 1 alerts when the security risk is substantial. This includes viruses, worms, and/or denial of service attacks that have the ability to spread quickly and become widespread with the ability to inflict major damage to systems. Historically, F-Secure has issued an average of one Level 1 security alert each month.

Level 2

This is a medium level alert. F-Secure issues Level 2 alerts when there is a potentially substantial security risk, or the threat is unique in some way. This would include viruses, worms, and/or denial of service attacks that may not spread as rapidly as a Level 1 security alert, but may inflict damage due to their unique nature. An example might be a particularly harmful virus that is not in the wild, or the first-ever instance of a virus for a wireless device. Historically, F-Secure has issued an average of one Level 2 security alert each week.
